Walter Carl Haring, Sr. better know as Pete Haring began his career picking cotton in Belzoni, Mississippi at the early age of seven.  By the early 1960s Haring Catfish hatched the first crop of catfish fingerlings and by 1970 were farming over 700 acres of catfish. Haring Catfish is very proud of the accomplishments in the catfish industry. Haring Catfish has received the Louisiana Catfish Farmer of the Year Award, Catfish Farmers of America Award of Excellence.

Haring Catfish Company was founded back in 1954 and is located in Wisner, Louisiana. Currently processing over 330,000 pounds of catfishes per week out of two plants and also awarded Louisiana Catfish of the Year. Very cooperative relationship between employees can be experienced and small town characteristics of quiet and peaceful environment can be experienced all year around. Major National Holidays like New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day are paid holiday after one year of employment and one week of paid vacation time is also a benefit provided to employees after one year of employment as well.
